Small Footprint, Big Impact Webinar

Abstract: Today's industrial systems are connecting more devices and components, including embedded devices that have historically not been connected. Adding connectivity creates opportunity, however, typical connectivity protocols often don't work with embedded components due to constraints with computing resources, power, and availability (or lack thereof) of basic operating system functions.

Twin Oaks Computing has been deploying DDS solutions into a wide variety of embedded environments for years, and we have built a wealth of information about small and resource constrained environments across defense programs, medical devices, energy grid controls, vehicles, both controlled and autonomous, to name a few.

During this webinar, we take a close look at using middleware in embedded environments, with a focus on CoreDX DDS options to architect a system with low-power devices, or RAM constrained devices, with sub-par, lossy, or intermittent networks.

Upcoming CoreDX DDS Features

Twin Oaks Computing continues to make improvements to our CoreDX DDS products. Active maintenance customers automatically receive the newest builds. Here are a few of our newly offered features:

  • NodeJS supported in Windows and Linux builds
  • Python v3.8 supported in Windows and Linus builds
  • Multiple crypto libraries supported, including newer versions of WolfSSL and OpenSSL
  • Support for additional IDL annotations and more syntactic variations of existing annotations
  • Additional code generation options, including support of non-standard interoperability
  • Improved performance, particularly in streaming data topics.

Introduction to DDS for L3Harris - Webinar Now Available on Demand

In a session developed specifically for L3Harris, Twin Oaks Computing will provide an introduction to the DS technology along with current L3Harris use of our CoreDX DDS products. CoreDX DDS is built for a wide range of targets, and is the only DDS product available for deeply embedded devices.

The Data Distribution Service (DDS) from the Object Management Group (OMG) is a data connectivity framework becoming standardized in a wide range of industries and military systems. From autonomous vehicles and embedded medical devices to electrical grids and intelligence and weapon systems, DDS is found in a growing number of architecture standards and government contracts.

Target Audience:

This webinar targets technical audiences with software architecture, design, and implementation responsibility for connected components, connected systems, and/or developing test and integration simulators, emulators, and other controlled test environments.

You must have an L3Harris email to register. Contact us for the link.

CoreDX DDS v5 continues to focus on resources and performance while incorporating new features and enhancements. Our evaluation copies include the full DDS API and standardized wire protocol, including:

  • All language bindings for the DDS API's (C,C++, Cxx, C#, Java, Python, JavaScript)
  • Full X-Types support including IDL, XML, and Dynamic type representations
  • Remote Procedure Call over DDS (RPC over DDS)
  • XML Application Definition
  • DDS Security (upon request)

With these enhanced features, CoreDX DDS is the perfect middleware solution to meet the challenges of today's Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) systems. Learn more here.

The evaluation is available here for direct download for the most common platforms, including Linux, Solaris, and Windows. Download your free 30 day trial of CoreDX DDS here.
